This is the most recent book in the murder club series and the first one I have read。 Seemed a bit formulaic murder mystery but good plot and characters。

I can't give it 2 stars because I did read it even though the options for whodunit didn't seem that mysterious。。。nor was it particularly thrilling。Short chapters。。。too short really。。。 easy to read。。。my first JP。。。it was Ok。。。lightweight plot。 I can't give it 2 stars because I did read it even though the options for whodunit didn't seem that mysterious。。。nor was it particularly thrilling。Short chapters。。。too short really。。。 easy to read。。。my first JP。。。it was Ok。。。lightweight plot。 。。。more

First time I've read any "Women's Murder Club" & it will be my last。 I didn't realise the plot is all set around one predominant location & the journalist was irritating, then the police woman did not require frequent documentation of her 'stream of consciousness'。。。So, all in all 1★ only。 First time I've read any "Women's Murder Club" & it will be my last。 I didn't realise the plot is all set around one predominant location & the journalist was irritating, then the police woman did not require frequent documentation of her 'stream of consciousness'。。。So, all in all 1★ only。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 I usually love James Patterson and the Women’s Murder Club series。 However I could not get into this book。 As a lawyer I struggled with the chapters involving the murder trial due to the evidence and trial procedure inaccuracies。 Every time the state attorney made an objection, I cringed because they would not be appropriate legal objections。 Many times there were some objections to opposing counsel asking leading questions on cross that were sustained in the novel but would never have been in r I usually love James Patterson and the Women’s Murder Club series。 However I could not get into this book。 As a lawyer I struggled with the chapters involving the murder trial due to the evidence and trial procedure inaccuracies。 Every time the state attorney made an objection, I cringed because they would not be appropriate legal objections。 Many times there were some objections to opposing counsel asking leading questions on cross that were sustained in the novel but would never have been in real life。 The whole point of cross examination is that counsel can ask leading questions…I really think the authors should do a little more research on courtroom procedure and the rules of evidence before writing out several trial/courtroom scenes。 While the serial killer idea of the novel was interesting, the process of catching & convicting the killer was too absurd and unreasonable for me as a lawyer。 I just could not give this book higher than two stars and honestly I felt two stars may even be too much。 。。。more

I have been reading James Patterson for quite some time and the Women Murder Club series is one of my favorite series。 I can’t believe we are up to book 21! This series is still going strong and I love it as much as I did when I first discovered it。What I loved most about this latest installment is that we have all four of the gals working together on a case…and we see them together quite frequently。 This had been my only complaint in a few of the previous books – that one or two of the women we I have been reading James Patterson for quite some time and the Women Murder Club series is one of my favorite series。 I can’t believe we are up to book 21!
